Other oddly shaped food items sold on Ebay include....

Hi all, a quick update before you read this story, I am now posting blogs under the title of Weird, Wacky and Worldwide News, you can now follow my blogs etc at http://weirdwackyandworldwide.blogspot.co.uk/

The chicken nugget sold on Ebay for £5,145, isn't the only weird shaped food to sell for stupid amounts of money on Ebay in the U.S

In Virginia, two sisters auctioned a cornflake in 2008 that looked like the state of Illinois, fetching £860 ($1,350)

A baked potato in Iowa was sold for £48 ($76) by a woman in 2009, claiming it revealed the shape of a crucifix.

And in 2004 Diana Duyser from Florida sold a toasted cheese sandwich, which was (YUK) ten years old, but beared the image of the Virgin Mary.  Diana says "its a miracle it never went off!"

My comments:

Time to start trawling through your food cupboards and freezers guys, there could be a few grands worth of food in them lol.
Im sure I have a ten year old arctic roll in my freezer, maybe I could carve an image of Jesus on to it!

McNugget sold on Ebay for £5000

Housewife Rebekah Speight from Dakota City, Nebraska sold a chicken mcnugget on Ebay for a laugh and sold it for £5,145 ($8,100)
The nugget was part of a meal, purchased by the family at their local McDonalds, and was left uneaten by the children.  It originally cost 99cents, but after receiving 44,795 views and having 1,610 people actively watching it being auctioned on the internet's selling giant it was eventually going going gone for a cool five grand!
The nugget was sold after being kept frozen for three years and was eventually bought by an unknown bidder beating 70 others.
The reason why it sold for so much...........it resembled the former United States president George Washington.

As you can see from the picture, the nugget looks just like George Washington (NOT)

Rebekah says that after clearing up at the restaurant, she noticed the deep fried snack and began to laugh.  Taking it home to show her husband the hysterical find, they would then show it to their family and friends who came to visit. It became a "show and tell" item!

The nugget was sold to raise money for sending 50 children to summer church camp in Sioux City, and Tricia Yanney, minister for the Sioux City Family Worship Center says "God works in unbelievable ways and God put it in her heart to do this."

My comments

It does not look like George Washington to me, the nose is crooked, the mouth looks like its whistling.  Credit to Rebekah Speight though, firstly for having the eye to notice a face on the batter of the nugget and secondly for keeping it for 3 years in deep freeze without it looking like a shriveled mess!  And a massive WOWA WEE WEE for actually selling it to someone who clearly nah nah nah nah nahhhhh Loving It!
